We found this painted lady butterfly on the beach and it reminded us of the time we learned about another butterfly as we were trapped in the Amazon Rainforest!

Did you know that every part of a butterfly’s body is covered by thousands of tiny scales? These creatures have three body parts, the head, the thorax and, the abdomen, and six legs, which makes them insects!

Fun Fact – Most butterflies are colorful and fly by day, while most moths fly at night and are dull in color.
